1 Million for Work Flexibility is thrilled to be celebrating its third anniversary this month. To commemorate the occasion, we’ve teamed up with FlexJobs on a list of companies that have listed the most flexible job openings in the last three years. These 250 companies are shining examples of work flexibility in action, as they truly walk the walk when it comes to flexible work options.
This list of the top companies with the most flexible job listings since 2013 (the “FlexJobs 250”) is based on an analysis of more than 40,000 companies and their flexible job posting histories in the FlexJobs database between October 1, 2013, and October 1, 2016. View the full list of 250 companies here.
And imagine that: even though these 250 companies posted the most flexible jobs, there are over 40,000 companies that have posted jobs with flexible work options. 40,000 companies demonstrating that they understand their workers have lives outside of work, and making it possible for people to better balance their lives and responsibilities at work and at home.
The top 250 companies particularly align with the goals of 1MFWF because they have truly embraced work flexibility for their teams and their business goals. We are thrilled to showcase their contributions to flexible work options for all.
What are “flexible jobs” and where are they found?
In compiling this list, the team at FlexJobs defined a “flexible job” as a professional-level job that has a telecommuting, flexible schedule, part-time, or freelance component.
The jobs range from entry-level to executive-level, and include both employee and freelance options. Part-time and full-time schedules are both included, but if a job has a full-time schedule, it must offer some other form of flexibility such as telecommuting or flexible hours.
The top four industries represented by the companies in the FlexJobs 250 list are: medical and health, HR and recruiting, computer and IT, and education and training. Others such as accounting and finance, government, and travel and hospitality are also prevalent on the list.
